On behalf of Wellington Primary Care Partnership, we are excited to announce that we will be coordinating an additional Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training again for the community in June. This training is a Government initiative which is funded through Mental Health First Aid Australia supporting rural communities.
This FREE training will be held over 2 days (20 & 21 June) from 9.30am – 4.00pm, Lecture Hall, Community Services Building, off Palmerston Street, Sale. Morning Tea, Light Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.
THIS 12 HOUR COURSE WILL TEACH YOU TO
- Identify and approach if you are concerned about someone.
- Listen and understand without judging.
- Pass on information about getting treatment.
- Give help and support to someone experiencing a mental health problem.
- Know what to do if a crisis situation arises
At the end of the four training sessions, participants can undertake an accredited online assessment to attain a Certificate of Accreditation (provided they attend all four sessions). The Standard MHFA Course has been endorsed for CPD points for a number of professions. Please refer to the link below to confirm if this applies to you.
